Fangirl Friday: Moms! Moms! Moms!

Fangirl Friday: Moms! Moms! Moms!

Every day is a chance to celebrate our moms. Mothers Day (this Sunday) just happens to be their dedicated holiday so it serves as a national reminder to do just that.

In celebration of all the mothers out there, we’re spotlighting a few of the moms in our lives to find out what that role is all about and, of course, to ask who their favorite child is.

Elisa (LisaMarie + Kimmy’s mom)

LisaMarie Kimmy Mom

What’s your kid count?
Four – 2 + 2

You can tell us… do you have a favorite?
Each are my favorite at different times.

What’s the biggest challenge of motherhood?
Convincing each that I don’t have a favorite.

What’s the best part about being a mom?
Everything, even the toughest times, I can look back at and say “wow, that was a wonderful experience, glad it’s behind me, LOL, but it was wonderful!”

Chelsea (New mom)

Chelsea

What’s your kid count?
My count is 2: a two-month old baby girl and a 9 year old step-son

You can tell us… do you have a favorite?
I don’t have a favorite! They are at such different ages and different developmental stages that it’s a completely different experience parenting each of them.

What’s the biggest challenge of motherhood?
The biggest challenge for me with my daughter has been finding my “village” and the confidence to trust my own instincts (it’s not innate!), and to strike a balance between the all-consuming experience of caring for an infant and not losing myself (or sight of my partner) in the thick of it.

What’s the best part about being a mom?
The best parts about being a mom to my stepson are experiencing and encouraging his sweetness, seeing him grow and use his creativity in ways that truly blow my mind, and knowing that I am helping raise him to grow into a thoughtful, imaginative, dear little human. It feels good to know I have a hand in that, in this world that could use a little more sweetness. The best part so far about raising my daughter is the heart explosion that happens every time she smiles at me. There is nothing better!

What’s your kid count?
I guess just 2, but actually I have 5 (3 dogs).

You can tell us… do you have a favorite?
I have to go with my pup Chloe Ann.

What’s the biggest challenge of motherhood?
Putting up with all of them. That really is the true answer.

What’s the best part about being a mom?
Putting up with all of them.

Dr. Frandina (Dr. Mom)

Dr Frandina

What’s your kid count?
I have 2 amazing daughters, ages 10 and 11.

You can tell us… do you have a favorite?
I do not have a favorite…. but I do find that I have a different, special relationship with each of them. My older daughter is an old soul and I can relate to her in a very grown up way which is unusual when someone is 11. My younger daughter has a young soul and always keeps me laughing!

What’s the biggest challenge of motherhood?
My biggest challenge is probably the most common one: balancing being a mom and working full time. I am fully committed to raising good, loving, empathic humans and that takes time and effort!

What’s the best part about being a mom?
The best part about being a mom is the feeling of pure, unadulterated, unconditional love. It is awesome!

Karen (Jessica’s Mom)

Karen

What’s your kid count?
Three.

You can tell us… do you have a favorite?
I don’t have a favorite child although over the course of their lives there have been times when I was focused on one more than the others.

What’s the biggest challenge of motherhood?
The biggest challenge was trying to let my children fail at things. I know it makes it easier to face real life if you have had to deal with failure but it’s so difficult to watch your child go through it.

What’s the best part about being a mom?
The best part is every time they make you smile whether it’s the first time they say mama or when they are grown up and they tell you they love you and you are so proud of the people they have become.

Jean (OG Mom/Grandma/Great Grandma)

What’s your kid count?
Three boys.

You can tell us… do you have a favorite?
Quite definitely NOT!

What’s the biggest challenge of motherhood?
Trying to draw on the strengths of each child.

What’s the best part about being a mom?
Receiving all the love and the warmth and the care of your children!

Keep up the great work, ladies! You’re such an inspiration.
